During the open house, visitors will tour the Center’s main rehabilitation areas, the hospital, the food preparation area, the laboratory, the exam room, and reptile room and maybe even get a glimpse of an incoming patient. In addition, visitors will get to speak with many of the staff and volunteers about animals in care and learn the stories behind their arrival.
A limited number of spaces will once again be available for the popular “Breakfast with the Birds”. This private behind-the-scenes peek kick offs the open house at 8:30 am that Saturday morning. Guests enjoy a light breakfast of muffins, fruit and other tasty temptations while visiting the center at their own leisure before opening to the public. Cost is $20.00 per person.
“We are very proud of the center’s achievements during the past 20 years,” says Joanna Weitzel, Executive Director. “Thousands of wild animals have been admitted to Carolina Wildlife Care, and most were returned to the wild to live out their lives. It’s truly a remarkable place!”
