Business Administration Intern 

The internship position provides professional work experience to an undergraduate or graduate
student interested in pursuing a career in business or non-profit administration. The intern will
be working together with the Outreach Coordinator and Executive Director. The intern provides
valuable assistance and support with the overall operations to complete various administrative
projects and day-to-day duties for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and route incoming calls
  • Coordinate administrative projects, assist with payroll, process timesheets for staff/interns
  • Maintain donor base
  • Record donor information and gifts
  • Generate appropriate acknowledgements for donations, in kind gifts, etc.
  • Return calls on staff’s behalf responding to inquires and special requests
  • Provide assistance with special projects, events, and additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Candidate should be a rising junior or senior, preferably a business major 
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to carry a professional tone
  • Must have a love of nature and a respect for the environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office required
  • Must possess a strong desire to learn, punctuality, attention to detail, and initiative

A minimum commitment of 160 hours is required for internship.  Hours are flexible, but may require some Saturdays. 
Successful interns have received offer for continued employment.  Candidates must provide own transportation. 
No housing available, but the University of South Carolina is nearby providing affordable accommodations.

Graphic Design Intern

Carolina Wildlife Care is now accepting applications for Graphic Design Internships. Interns will
design collateral materials for media campaigns, fundraising events, newsletters, and web
design and work on projects that can be added to portfolios and/or used for college course
credit. Becoming a Carolina Wildlife Care intern is a great opportunity for graphic design
students to learn more about Graphic Design aspects of non-profit public relations, marketing
and fundraising. Interns also gain the real-life experience that most employers are seeking,
setting themselves apart from other graduates. Graphics Design Internships are available for
each of the spring, summer, and fall semesters.

Responsibilities

  • Design layout and content for the Center’s quarterly newsletter “Wild Things”
  • Assist in creating templates for the Center’s brochures and special event correspondence including invitations, response cards, programs, informational flyers, etc.
  • Assist with other graphic design tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Internship open to Graphic Design majors of sophomore level or higher
  • Candidates should possess excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of working alone
  • Applicants must have access to Adobe Creative Software and Microsoft Office in an offsite location
  • Interest in non-profit work and a respect for nature and the environment a plus
  • A fundamental understanding of typography, photography and layout for print and web is strongly recommended

There is a minimum requirement of 10 hours per week.  Hours are flexible.  Some off-site work may be allowed, but this will be
determined on an individual basis.  Candidates must provide own transportation.  No housing available, but the University of South Carolina
