Education: Camp WILD Things
Is your child wild about wildlife? Passionate about opossums? Totally
taken with turtles?
Camp WILD Things is the place for them!
Camp WILD Things is a truly unique camp experience, and the kids
that attend camp over and over are its best promoters. Camp is an
exploration of the wonders of the wild and the creeping, crawling
and flying creatures that call it home. Campers meet some of the
amazing animals in our care, and make a few new friends that love
nature just like they do.
Camp WILD Things strengthens the bond between children and nature,
the great outdoors, our environment and all living things. Campers
can't stop talking about their day at camp after leaving, so Mom's
and Dad's you will learn some new things too! Camp WILD Things includes

- Creative games and crafts
- Behind-the-scenes look at wildlife clinic
- Smaller camp sizes making the most of your child's Camp WILD Things
experience- a ton of learning and a lot of fun!
Camps Available
Carolina Wildlife Care offers (2) different camps each summer to
provide a new experience for returning students. Campers leave each
day with a greater respect for wildlife, a better understanding
of their role as stewards of this world, and a desire to make a
difference.
Wildlife Adventurer
Ages 6-11
Campers are introduced to different types of wildlife living in
our own backyards, from animals that fly to those that hop and even
the ones that slither. What makes each of these animals different?
What makes them similar? Wildlife adventurers discover the unique
characteristics of wildlife and leave camp with a lasting respect
for nature!
Dates: June 20-24 and June 27- July 1
Nature Explorer
Ages 6-11
Campers are guided through the hidden world of wildlife to unearth
its mysteries. Nature Explorers decipher the unusual behaviors of
wild animals, learn their adaptations for survival, and investigate
deeper into their sources of food and places to live. Campers will
sharpen their skills of discovery and unlock the secrets for uncovering
wildlife in the wild.
Dates: July 11-15 and July 18-22
Camp Information
Registration begins April 1st. Each week of camp is limited to
an enrollment of 12 campers. Registration
forms can be printed online or picked up at the wildlife
center at 5551 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Forms along
with payment should be mailed to the address above or dropped off
at Carolina Wildlife Care.*
*Every effort is made to fill each week of camp. In the rare
event, that fewer than 6 children are registered for a week, Carolina
Wildlife Care reserves the right to cancel that week. Parents will
be notified in advance with other possibilities.
Camp Times
Camp begins at 9:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm. No extended care is
available.
Costs
One-week session of Camp WILD Things is $125.
Drop Off/Pick Up
Drop off time is between 8:30 and 8:55 each morning.
Pick up time is 12:00 pm. A late pick up fee of $10 is charged
for EVERY 5 minutes late picking up your child after 12:10 pm.
What to Bring
Children are provided a Camp WILD Things t-shirt and name badge
that Monday of camp to wear each day. Campers must bring a back
pack or bag containing a mid-morning snack, a water bottle, sunscreen
and a raincoat. All activities are outside.
